Contentment Is Both Victory And Surrender Poem by Pierre Rausch

Contentment Is Both Victory And Surrender

Down by the river
Was she here on her own initiative
Abandoning the usual attitude
Then be considered a true witness

I can't just accept that happiness
Because when she was content
Nobody could ever take that place
I'd say yes without hesitation

She couldn't make up the sentence
Now revealed as nothing but truth
And had written a note like that
Goods for sale, to a perfect stranger

I can't just accept that happiness
Because when she was content
Nobody could ever take that place
I'd say yes without hesitation

Suitably suited
By it's surface
Quite ordinary
It is sudden love

I can't just accept that happiness
Because when she was content
Nobody could ever take that place
I'd say yes without hesitation

Suitably suited
By it's surface
Quite ordinary
It is sudden love
