Conversation With A District Attorney Poem by Bill Grace

Conversation With A District Attorney

He was a very civil man careful to give thanks
For a well brewed cup of coffee.
We talked about a world not so civil and
levels of battery recognized in law.
We talked about education and the brutality of excellence.
We talked about hunting hogs and their quality as sausage.
This man with the shirt that declared an identity
Was good company even before breakfast and good conversation.
