Cookie Kisses Poem by Casey Gochnour

Cookie Kisses

All those times when you’d come to see me,
Every time I went to see you,
A chocolate chip treat is what we would eat,
For those moments we would meet.

Every moment a glance of heaven,
Even if it was only one day out of seven.
My days would be brighter and especially my nights,
With all of those special cookie bites.

Later on, after our cookie crumbled,
Those sweet little treats stumbled,
Upon a new way to be used.
Used to prevent the heart from feeling so bruised.

Each one of those sweets, our cookie treats,
Seemed to replace each one of your kisses.
Each bite so delicious, reminiscing days of my missus,
With every bite of those kisses, every day that I miss is,
Just another memory in treat,
With you and your cookie kisses.

So give me another bite,
How about we see each other tonight,
How about I taste one more kiss,
Just one more moment I never want to miss.
