Coping Skills Poem by Jamie Dewyer

Coping Skills

you said prayers backwards into dust
and formed a circle of untrust
you rusted when the rain came down
from spouts inside your lies

like feeble little creatures crawl
and lean and stumble
and revolve
you hollowed out your own escape
from deep inside your own debate

you copied me with every step
you baited me with false intent
you traitor, you alarmist shill
you falsifier of the still
your honor has no ground or will
you break against my coping skills
