Coro, The New Bad King Poem by Raimi Babatunde

Coro, The New Bad King

Everyone is in frenzy
Ebola came and was conquered
HIV, on the verge of dymystification
Coro, the new bad king
People walking like bipolar models
With surgical mask, the new dazzling apparel
But from the beginning, it was not so…

The pressure is on the world
Dancing ballet on their toes
But these cords are discordant
Cutting short destinies so bright
Have you got soar throat, diarrhea
Fever, headache or running nose
Save the last dance, check yourself in

This takes me to tomorrow
When the trumpet sounds
And the walls snaps open
The King of glory ready to take his bride
Lifting them into life eternal
Where the grass is greener
A fortress where no disease can permeate

All these you see, are end time things
We are closer than you think
Wake up, make peace and be prepared
He will take us into peace
Subject to simple terms and conditions
Accept him as your Personal Lord and Saviour
Don't say I didn't warn you

To the ones who have transited
Nothing in life lasts forever
Not even life
We are but sojourners on earth
Each alighting at different stops
We too, will join you, but not soon
Only when it is finished…

We can only hope and pray
That this plague will not last
Because it is a Chinko product
Meanwhile, wash and sanitize often
Should you suspect any, keep your distance
"Dem no dey use shame drink poison"
Together, lets make the world a safer place
