Corrupt Poem by Nae Tyler

Corrupt

A sigh for all the thoughtlessness
or a toast to all out shame
a silent, secret, hidden fear
how well can you play this game?

a smile to hide our painful plight
easier to act the same
no change among the haughty stares
just pass the shame

so to everyone devoted
to the heartache they receive
who hate to love these hidden lies
and choose what to believe

what right is theres who choose to decide
just who they wish to deceive
with a fake face and a false love
you're not trapped, but wont leave

to who do we owe this ignorance
to this corrupted 'I love you'
when what we mean isn't what we say
these words are never true

to the slanted they say faults all ours
and theres nothing we can do
these masks become our only escape
and empty words 'I love you too'
