Cosmic Robots Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Cosmic Robots

On the Moon and Mars, in dusty gray,
Robots soon will work and stay.
They don't need air, they don't need rest,
They're built to pass the harshest test.

While humans sleep inside their base,
A metal friend takes outer space.
It climbs a hill, it lifts a stone,
It works for hours all alone.

The Sun beats down, the cold is deep,
But robots never fall asleep.
They do the jobs that bring us harm,
With steady legs and steel-made arms.

NASA's team is building now,
A future where we learn just how
A human mind and robot hand
Can work together on new land.

Not to replace, but to protect,
To check each risk, to double-check,
So people live to walk the ground,
And leave their footprints safe and sound.
