Cosmology Poem by Seth Lloyd Norris Thomas

Cosmology

I saw a picture once
of a black hole
wicking away the sun-stuff
from a nearby star,
a beautiful yellow-orange gout of starlight
spiraling seemingly endlessly
into some sort of bottomless abyss.

I am that star, I think—
draining into myself
