Cost Of Love Poem by Katherine Bryce

Cost Of Love

</>I know the feeling,
when your all on your own,
no one to stand beside you,
no one to hold.

but it's a price to pay,
when you've been caught,
in a little web,
that's pulling tight.

trying to please you,
has just been a waste,
I truly care,
but don't need this pain.

I know that you,
just want to be friends,
and I'm okay with it,
whatever makes you smile.

but some have said,
that you've said things,
that hurt me so bad,
I just hope it's a lie.

I wouldn't dare tell you,
because well what if,
what if they say they said nothing,
then I'm the one who's caught.

oh man what's happened,
between you and me,
our friendship has gone,
just like the wind.

my dear I miss the days,
that we would spend,
talking the days away,
when we could say anything.

I've been hurt before,
and will be again,
but I can't believe,
it was you of all people.

you've never hurt me,
but now why do you,
I've never felt pain,
so bad as this.

I want you to know,
that I'll try to get over,
everything I've been through,
and everything I knew.

you were there for me,
but I guess no more,
it was a huge price to pay,
for the cost of love.
