Country Hearts Poem by Andrew Rose

Country Hearts

Lie with me and listen to my heart,
because I want you to be there when it starts,
while we laugh and play pretending this aint love,
but itll get us in the end,
and ill come to say the same,
waiting till I lock myself out,
screaming in the rain.

Lie with me and listen to my heart,
because I want you to hear it at its last,
it should hurt be we know its love,
and the masks have faded now,
done and dropped,
my souls standing in the doorway,
please don’t follow yet,
footprints in the rain.
