Country Roots Poem by Tammie Thrasher

Country Roots

I don’t wear bows and headbands
I don’t wear a spray on tan
I don’t wear dresses once a week
I don’t wear heels on my feet
I always wear a pony tail
I’m white as a white tail
I wear mud on the bottom of my boots
I wear my country attitude down to my roots
I don’t want a flashy sports car
I don’t want to be a big movie star
I don’t stand out in a crowd
I don’t put myself all out and about
I want a Ford Pick-Up Truck
I want to be a photographer when I grow up
I dance on my papaw’s flatbed
I sing at the top of my head
I wear mud on the bottom of my boots
I wear my country attitude down to my roots
I don’t like guys with highlighted hair
I don’t like to play truth without a dare
I don’t put makeup on everyday
I don’t care what people say
I am me and that’s all I want to be
I am proud to be country!
I wear mud on the bottom of my boots
I wear my country attitude down to my roots
