Country Till I Die Poem by Maverick Jones

Country Till I Die

Feeling the wind blowing through my hair,
rounding the rivers bends without a care.
Seeing a osprey dive into the water,
pulling out a fish to slaughter.
Hearing air boats zooming on the flats,
trying to find where the fish are at.
Smelling the beauty of the swamp,
dodging around sunken stomps.
Boating on the water isn't just a part of life,
it is life and no one can take it away,
I can be on the water night and day.
You can have the city lights,
I'll happily take the pure moon light.
I'm a country girl and I'll be one till the day I die,
and even when I'm high the sky.
