County Fair Hats Poem by Marilyn Lott

County Fair Hats

I went to the fair the other day
Stopped at a stand with hats on display
There were hats of every single shade
Choosing was a decision I could not have made.

And then the clerk picked up one
Said to me, “Hey, it’s all in fun”
I plopped it on my head ‘cause I liked the style
I looked in the mirror and just had to smile.

It was pink in color with fringe all around
Yep that was the one, my favorite was found
So when you visit the local county fair
Why don't you try a hat on there?
