Cover To Cover Poem by Robert Longley

Cover To Cover

A book without an ending
Is a story few would read
It can’t become a classic
Without meeting human needs

It comes down to the basics
Love and comforts near
Cooking in the kitchen
And the phrase “I love you dear”

Short of some excitement
But long on days of bliss
And timing almost perfect
With but a day to miss

A nearly perfect ending
An adventure through and through
And the best part of the story
You know that it is true
