Crawling Upward Poem by Danang Dwi Praditya

Crawling Upward

Rating: 5.0

Once I laid on the rug of shame,
With a deformed heart and pinions lame.
I was about to send a treatise to the demon
Who gave me caress and remission?

I crawled a million times out of despair.
As I climbed to the fair,
But I went deep down into the sorrow.
O darkness hollow!

Awake beneath mourning ash.
Covered with a blade of rough sash.
I was going to run or leap.
But it always ended with flunk or even a weep.

I strive to deliver right
By passing a nasty nightmare every night.
Bless me with a fresh poison
Thus, I could feel the soothing diapason

Oh, Lord! Could I be saved?
From hell blasted?
Not! It was late.
My soul has matted.

No more persistence.
Or even a burden.
Could You give me much appeasement?
Then I could feel a sense of excitement.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem depicts one who got overwhelmed and felt tired of all the sucks things. Here he eloquently describes the effect his mental health disorders had on him. He felt nothing or numb. He gained infinite pain. He had suffered too many wounds, pains, and sorrows, so he could no longer feel anything and felt lost. It describes someone incapable of doing anything and everything because his soul has already been exhausted. All that he wants could feel serenity, freedom, and also blissfulness.
