Creatures Poem by Rose Marie Cook

Creatures

Creatures plead in the darkness
They crawl from their damned places
They are banished
Yet they cry out, luring their feast

They call to me
In their whispered language
Speak to me in
Their disguised tongue

They search for me
Within the shadows
They target me
The soldiers in my war

They hunt me for my blood
They long to have my power
To write and know the future
And they have found me
