Crimes & Diseases Poem by ROGEL FRANCIS SORIOSO

Crimes will always be like a disease of a healthy person or state
To combat such illness is to be aware and to properly educate
Of why a person choose to rob instead of making a livelihood
Was the opportunity given at the time even enough to buy food
Like any diseases the germs or virus weakens the entire body
In the case of the state the effects is felt by almost everybody
The constant attack of robbery and theft creates a certain damage
Although crimes could not bring down the system it does ruin its image
We must learn to relate to the lower classes of our society
To understand their struggle through the harsh reality
Unlike a sick person who could come to the pharmacy to get a quick relief
To heal a sickened state requires an enormous undertaking as my belief
A sick person could come to the Doctor for a prescription at a certain rate
But there is no over the counter medicine for a sick and ailing state
Any types of crimes is a disease that upsets the system of balance
Creating a disruption within the flow of order in the Law and Ordinance
Before making such diagnosis the Physician checks for the symptoms of ailment
In the case of the state its condition is alleviated by a systematic containment
Preventing the disease from spreading and becoming a major infection
By means of a strict and vigor Law Enforcement in its service of action
Crimes would also be higher in a state where the economy is slow
Not being able to provide substantial job where the opportunity is low
Crimes and diseases have something in common in the eyes of a visionary
The treatment for both requires a change in its method which is ordinary
Crimes and diseases may vary on the extent of damage made or done
And unlike a disease which may be completely cured the crimes will never be gone
For crimes like a disease evolves into something even worst as time passes by
Victimizing and infecting anyone regardless if they survive or they die
Diseases could always be avoided by becoming more healthy and clean
But crimes could never be diminished by the Law as what I have seen
For criminal acts are embedded deep in the sub-consciousness of the human mind
And to search for a sense of peace and logic to all the lawlessness made is hard to find
