Cross Roads Poem by Sheldon Carruthers

Cross Roads

There is a voice in my head telling me you ought to be dead
your better off dead, your better off dead
you can do it just slip some pills your worries will be over and done failing that you can try yourself hung
Its a dream, more a hope that you will be better off on the other side
But what if there is nothing and it's just a lie
suicide is DIY you have the tools now decide
there is nothing more black and white than death
You were once here and now you've left
It takes courage to take your life but even more to live life
with little or no reward you may just be bored
if death is the answer answer me this is bliss on the other side or is it in a kiss
is it in a babies smile or laughter of a child or the sweet fragrance of flowers beautiful to behold or climbing to a mountain top and knowing you've done well
if you find hell on earth you might find it after as well
because hell and heaven begin on earth that is wisdoms great pearl
