Crowd For An Icon Poem by Vinod Vijayakumar

Crowd For An Icon

A ground and a stage that were empty,
somewhere in the heart of the city.
In which was arranged a spectacular show,
that was to have a hero whom millions bow.

Thousands of visitors at the gate,
totally focused and they had to wait.
Ran with utmost speed inside when
the gates were set completely open.

Using even a centimeter to stand,
to view the show set so very grand.
Such a strong mass growing even stronger,
the crowd was longing and growing longer.

As the hero of the mass made himself appear,
the gathering shouted at top of voice in total cheer.
for the sound directly from his vocal cords which
was always very particularly higher in the pitch.

Uncontrollable was the entire gathering.
Falling, slanting, pushing and rushing.
A lot of women were suffering from suffocation, and
lost children in the crowd awaiting any information.

What's so special about the one single person!
The music that he created was the only reason.
The cheers of the multitude and their exclamation
were really hard to give one elaborate explanation.

I, at times, had a question rising in my mind,
if the commoners were going crazy, wild and blind.
But its the every single note of the musician
that makes it worth and him a real time magician.
