Crunch Crunch Poem by Sara Case

Crunch Crunch

Walking into the shadows
That haunt every hour.
Becoming more and more gloomy.
Suddenly out of no where,
A beast comes sneaking, crawling, wiggling out of my house.
Beloved and scared both at the same time.
Next thing I know,
It's pulling me and all I can see is a flash of light.
I am now my own captive at this point.

Crunch, Crunch
The leaves talk to me,
Asking if I should be doing something.
Something of great importance.
Gracefully the monster pulling and tugging at me stops.
Looks around, sits, and gets back up again.
Runs toward my house as if it is about to ambush it.
It stops.
Waits for me to open the door.
So I do.
Letting the beast destroy my property all over again,
Just likee very other day.

I hate taking out my dog!
