Crush Poem by Sophie Wightman

Crush

The sunlight hits my face,
The glittering rays sparkle in my eyes.
I feel it in my skin.
I feel the goodness that it brings,
I feel the relief and the calm.
The never-ending flame
Igniting a passion I thought silent.

You're looking at me, your eyes warm,
The oak and honey swirl into heaven.
My heart grows with your presence.
I inch closer,
Reaching my translucent hands up to grab the light.

But you're just too far out of reach,
I push myself taller than ever before,
But my grip falls short.
The light starts to fade,
I crave the warmth of when I'm with you.

The clouds take you away.
