Cupid... Poem by Nestor David Armas

Cupid...

Of love in my life,

Cupid has forgotten me,

The arrow with my name;

He has not strung,

All around me,

The innocent keep falling;

Madly in love with one another,

My time is past,

Unlike wine,

I'm not better with age,

To strike me now,

Why bother?

Love has lost its glow,

Has lost its luster,

That which caught my eyes,

Now lies like fools gold,

Unexplored, unattractive,

My days go by a blur,

The anxiety I no longer have to endure,

The wait, the anticipation;

Of love in my life,

Of joy & strife,

Love was not blind,

It was cupid all along...
