Curtains Defined My Life Poem by Tina Baaklini

Curtains Defined My Life

My love,

Curtains defined my life
Long curtains in my mind
Light curtains that move with the wind
Torn curtains that let the rain in

Comfort zone is as a mental cage
Yet birds were born with wings
To fly as high as they wish
And free will was bestowed upon us
To pursue any dream we cherish

But how to convince a caterpillar
That one day she'll fly
Or a seed that it holds within a tree
Thus comfort zone is nothing but
An illusion nurtured by fear

Your unconditional love
Helped me break all mental chains
Tear off obsolete curtains
And for the first time
Breathe the breeze of freedom
