Cycle Of Life Poem by Thabile Nhlapo

Cycle Of Life

I Wake up to the beautifully peeping sunray flashing at my face.
Birds chirp harmoniously in the background
Greeted by the fresh smell of coffee hubby is brewing
I watch hubby get dressed, pats me with a forehead kiss before jetting off to provide for us.
A sense of reassurance greets my body - things will always be great
The cycle of life keeps repeating itself I hardly catch the view of change.

Its been 10 years, I look around me and things have changed so much
Yet I am still where I was 10 years ago. Only now do I realise the fruit of my labour is not what I bargained for....wait, but what labour?
Desperation to change kicks in but could I be too late?
The cycle of life keeps repeating itself but it keeps evolving too.
What would the world be if all were like me?
No Steve Jobs to see beyond the present technology
Obama to have a dream
Mandela to walk the long walk of pain and suffering to free all South Africans?
Martin Luther king who planted the seed to think beyond colour
....Should I go on?
Where would we be if we were all uninspired and accept things as they are?

Yes the cycle of life keeps repeating itself with the wheels of change and a better tomorrow spinning with it.

Live your life - Make it count for greatness not existance!
