Dad Poem by Gareth Williams

Dad

My Dad is not dead, at least not to me
A change of address makes him harder to see
He says if you all close your eyes for a while
You’ll see him beside you, smiling that smile
He’d like us to laugh, to remember him here
And his promise to you is he’ll always be near.

My Dad is not dead, he’s leading the way
His love for his family so strong today
He says that he’s worked out the meaning of life
Love for his children and wonderful wife
He’d like us to smile, to remember him near
And his promise to you is he’ll always be here.
