Daddy? Poem by caroll chaumette

Daddy?

Look at me, look at you
They say I look just like you
But who are you?
I have been searching high and low
But I always come to a dead end
Where are you?
Sometimes you seems within my reach,
But it turns out to be an elusive dream
Can you tell me who I am?
I need you here, not over there
To soothe my hurts and pain
To direct me, to correct me.
Hold me, console me
Can you show me how to be a man?
I'm scared, so I dare roll with the tide,
Other try to imitate you
Somtime I think I hate you.
I need your love, approval and validation
Can you tell me who I am?
Would you be, could you be my Daddy?
