Daddy, Why Don'T You Want Us? Poem by Mimie Durand

Daddy, Why Don'T You Want Us?

Rating: 5.0

I’m four-years-old
Daddy left us alone
It's been months now
he hasn’t phoned.

No kiss good-bye
Shed lots of tears
Feel insecure
Nights spent in fear.

Miss him terribly
My childhood was taken
Couldn’t comprehend
I felt forsaken.

I’m an innocent child
Cannot be blamed
If he’d return now,
It wouldn’t be the same.
