Damaged Angels Poem by Kevin Patrick II

Damaged Angels

With muzzles on their necks
They wear white collard handcuffs
Tied around their sleeves
Their thoughts are imprisoned
Equally as their flesh
And the world turns around
As no one listens to their pleas

The Nurses, treat them like cattle
Shackling them to beds
And administer cures
That neutralize their dignity
Their language is held hostage
to their mute tongues
But they can see and feel the world
With greater synchronicity

But their crimes? -
is their genetics
the punishment-
Is this existence

The dameged angels
Condemned to the island
of the misfit toys

Alone,
without love
Is just death
when your alive

Looking through that picture
Of the horrors
of yesterday

The thought occurs to me
its the crystal ball
Of tomorrow
