Damnation/Salvation

Rain poured heavily that night
as our limbs tangled into one.
'The Gods are mad at us, '
I whispered to him.
He laughed a tender laugh
and gave me a kiss
soothing to the soul like a promise
knowing that salvation
is at hand.
