Damsel In Distress Poem by taneisha peterman

Damsel In Distress

Locked in this lonely world waiting for a prince to save me,
Take me from imprisonment of solitary break down the walls set me free.
It's dark and cold here with a bared window leading out to a bright world,
makes me even sadder watching couples hand in hand wishing i could be one of those girls.
All i have is a broken heart wanting it to be mend,
many 'men' tried to rescue me but the dragon in my heart didn't let them in.
Some who escaped to save me promised their return but never came back to release the curse,
so i sit here alone hoping the next won't make the pain worse.
I wonder if I'll be trapped here forever or will there finally be someone who will take me away?
have someone who will never send me to this place again, bring sunshine to this rain.
