Dance While You Still Can Poem by Damian olatunde Ogedengbe

Dance While You Still Can

As i scribble down these words,
I smile softly at your thoughts,
Of course, i will dance! , why wont i?
No, some just dance it all up there,
In their head, because music dont lie,

I took a sigh, wallowed in my thoughts,
Good music never dies, but good people do,
And just when the DJ played a good music,
I saw that dance was no respecter of age,
The young, the old, all wanted the stage,

I saw an handicapped in his mid-twenties,
Nodding his head to the music, with smiles,
Then i saw another guy in his mid-twenties,
Vibing same way, just like the handicapped,
Time will pass, you would be in your eighties,
You would wish you danced while you could.
