Dancing To The Devil's Tune Poem by Ehi Abah

Dancing To The Devil's Tune

Sweat beads the size of rocks
waist beads move in a flow
See her revibrate with zest
Her feet moving with the rest
Her arms swaying with the wind

With the rise and fall of the drummer's hands
The drums go clang
A never ending rhythm
The dance's duration?
The dancer's choice

A more sombre path
Fills the other part
With longing she views their peace
With disdain she turns from their plea
Happy and free was her lot in life

The tune of a world of no cares
Leads the dance to the world after
The choice had been theirs
That dance of freedom now one of never ending torture
The tears, pleas, howls unheeded

...Jesus beckons
