Dark Poem by Leonard Rebello

Dark

Rating: 5.0

Dusk brings with it the dread of the approaching dark

The promise of the fiery red dawn tomorrow holds no consolation for me

The vastness of the dreary cold shadows linger and eats my soul

The promise of tomorrows joys hold no light for me

I lie on my back taking it all in

Words, phrases, actions, everything has just become a big farce for me

My thoughts wander aimlessly in the hot arid desert

The promise of an oasis somewhere makes no difference to me

I take a lonely walk along the mighty fuming sea

But all the treasures that it holds fail to captivate me

The mountains tower majestically all around my vicinity

But the depths of the valleys is all that saddens me

Enchanting maiden’s suggestively beckon me

But to their amazement they get no resonance from me

My innermost fears I try to quell and conquer

As I climb the steps of this galaxy stretched before me

Life when it becomes a blur looks beautiful they say

Well it has slowed to a crawl and stretched itself a furlong before me
