Dark Clouds Poem by Lynn F Clemons

Dark Clouds

Dark Clouds

Dark clouds on the horizon
Nowhere to run to
Nowhere to hide

It does no good
To try and examine my heart
As there’s nothing left inside

A heart that used to beat for you
Every beat helped me fill your every need
But now I know, it was all in vain
Amongst your friends I’ll never lead

I’m always just an after thought
A tiny footnote in your life
You never wanted me anyhow
Your stark rejection cuts like a knife

There is not a thing I can say or do
To make you change your mind
I feel so worthless just sitting here
The love I want, I’ll never find
