Dark Disturbances Poem by Violetta Sunshine

Dark Disturbances

Infant cries in the dark night,
Cat howls in the moonlit street,
The town clock striking another hour,
Curtains blowing eerily in the wind,
Doors creaking in the lifeless house,
Lights flickering on the ceiling wall,
Branches tapping against the window,
Sirens screeching in some distant lane,
Spiders and moths whirling about,
As I lay in my bed trying to sleep.
