Dark Valley, Green Glade Poem by Peter Edwards

Dark Valley, Green Glade

Dark Valley, Green Glade

No star to guide, no kings or shepherds
The valley is dark, swathed in shadow.
Past failures stare, like sightless skulls
Enemies surround, from high above.

I will go forward, embrace the future
Find flowing streams, cool pools of water
And in this place, at one with nature
I'll take my rest, finally lay down.

In this green glade, restore my soul
Be reborn again, fill to overflow
To feast of goodness, to live with you
Take in the sun, abide in peace.
