Darkness Poem by Amelia Cas

Darkness

Darkness springs away
captions, images inside my head.
Funny what I like the most,
was once what scared me.
The irony of what fear turned into
a comfort is the darkness now.
Life bled in the silence,
darkness sheltered it, and cared.
Enough to come around,
and befriend my innocence.
Monsters and goblins
never hurt me.
silence and blindness,
calmed me.
Soon became a dependant
solitude increased,
silence told me not to speak.
Darkness told me not to fear,
and my mind had no doubt.
