Darkness Gathers
As the darkness gathers and the sun fades from view
I stand here in twilight and wait
The grey-blue sky above me holds the light
Refusing to let go of this day
The last before the Solstice
Waiting for darkness
Waiting the few short hours until the Sun returns
Bringing warmth and light to us all
The wheel is turning
The year moves on
