Darkness In The Light Poem by A R

Darkness In The Light

A clash of light and dark every time I blink
Though for me, it is the inverse of what one would naturally think

When my eyes close
The light is exposed

A portal to an unseen dimension
Beyond any earthly comprehension

For through the darkness, I am nearly blinded by the light
When my eyes open, this reality is darker than the night

A cold world, in which I’ve long since furled
A distant thought toward the sun I hurled

But in my mind, I’m always enticed by what I find
A catalyst of thoughts and images together intertwined

I close my eyes and see light I can almost feel
Then my eyes open to the darkness of what is real
