Daughter. Poem by Liz Connolly

Daughter.

what do I want
what do I mean
when I say instead of do

I expect that when you hear
You'll answer me
I love you too

A daughter's place
cannot be bought
Or offered out, a home to rent

through united love
And time and care
A child of remarrige or of decent.
