Day Break Liberation Poem by Felix Emeka George

Day Break Liberation

Rating: 4.0

On seeing the dawn crack,
Onto the orchard,
forest and homestead,
awakening the daybreak
And the kolanut path.
Revealing palm oil as our norms- bloom.
The water, the palm wine, the ofo,
pouring a libation on the earth.
For thanksgiving prayer I moaned,
‘Glory be to the name
of the creator of all things.

In moderation the heaven and earth greet us.
Divinities and our ancestors
your food is here receive it.
Supreme being,
Daybreak libation is here;
our forefathers,
We pray to you
that goodness and mercy continue to follow us.
