Day By Day Poem by Jack Gears

Day By Day

It is a dark day,
a lonely day.
It is cold,
Even if the sun is shining bright.

It is cold because I’m alone,
Alone in a crowded full of people.

It is a dark day,
A lonely day,
It is a cold day.

The sun is blistering high in the sky.
It is mocking me,
I want to look up at the stare so close to me.
But can not because it will blind me.

I’m alone in a crowd full of people,
Cold and blinded by the sun.

Now with my tired, lifeless eyes,
It is a dark day.

It is a dark day,
A lonely day,
It is a cold day.

I’m alone in my sad,
Cold,
And dark world.

And then the light shines in.
Light.
Hope.
Redemption for looking at the sun.
