Daydreams Poem by Mike Lowry

Daydreams

On a daily basis the gleam of your smile peers through my blinds, slowly, until the warmth of your touch caresses the room. Until thoughts of you fill the vast space of my dreams, and for a moment I am allowed a glimpse of heaven. And I begin to wonder, do angles fall in love?
And at this moment your beauty graces the morning sun and my fingers begin to dance through the tangled forest that holds the secrets to life, to love, to my heart; and I am enticed by that which causes my heart to skip as if in an attempt to match the beating of yours; until the call of the day forces us from the fortress that we have shared.
Peering into your eyes as the light turns them into the stars of the night before I realize that God has placed you here for a reason...to show me that the troubles of today can't overshadow the beauty of the world he created...I figure that this is how love is supposed to feel...that the everyday worries of the world we live in tend to fade away whenever you waltz into the room but until the moment when reality allows us to walk hand in hand, my angel...will only exist in my dreams.
