Dead Treasure Poem by Kennedy Oluoma

Dead Treasure

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Those dreams are dead
Likewise you.

Your memory vanishes and run
As snow before a summer sun
You were a treasure, now a dead flower
Only diamonds are forever.

You made pain the verb of love
Haloing (like a dove) in the skies above
Your prey is the weak at heart
Like a predator you tear the prey's heart apart

I was deaf when I got the alerts
Now I nurse where it hurts
And if my healing heart gets better
I will stand to live happily ever after

But now that I have fallen in love
I shall remain dead in love
And will not rise in hate
But shall ponder where lies my fate.
