Deafening Silence Poem by Richard DaSilva

Deafening Silence

Can you see the shadows in the dark?
The ones who climb up the the feet of your bed
While you sleep they take their time
And slowly eat you alive, enjoying every minute every passing second
There's no danger, no fire, no storm, just the quiet
While the eyes of the victim search for a light
Save me from hell that can come from within
Sit by and wait as your heart meets your fate
And your body and mind and your soul all collide with one beat
Does this deafening silence mean nothing to no one but me..
