Trust me when I say that I'm not doing this for clout;
My calmness to decide upon this, really stands out -
I could wait and expect reconciliation to come about,
But this toxic marriage caused me emotional drought.
The tears in my eyes now resemble the rain;
That came after the drought to wash away the pain.
They speak of joy and relief, ending dread's reign -
I'm so grateful I finally learned to listen to my brain.
Rely on my words ensuring this is not a phase,
I found the safest exit out of a deadly maze.
My past may allow others to have the wrong guess -
But I'm never going back to the same old days.
This is a thoughtful decision rather than an impulsive craze,
I'll walk away in peace, he'll watch silently with disgrace.
