Dear Ana Poem by BJ ODonnell

Dear Ana

Dear Ana, I love you. You have been my light in the darkest hour. You have given me control over my demons. You have given me the strength to do what I thought was never possible.

Dear Ana, would you leave me? I was mistaken when I thought that you were carrying me. It turns out, I have been carrying you. All I wanted was weightlessness but you are the heaviest thing on earth.

Dear Ana, please say goodbye! My body is weak and not coping. I no longer have the strength to continue my days. You really should know why.

Dear Ana, please let go. I am falling fast, collapsing under you. Although it's not your fault we fell in love. I was that one that pursued you.

Dear Ana, get off, get off my back! All I want is weightlessness. I can't even get out of bed anymore. I can't eat, sleep, function without your whispers invading my thoughts.

Dear Ana, I guess you'll never go. You'll take me with you, or I'll be left alone. Where would I be without you? I suppose we'll never know.
