Dear Lord Poem by Kirsty Richards

Dear Lord

Dear lord
Through my fallen glory
Misguided adventures
And trouble-filled story
Were you there to catch me?
Waiting for an opportunity
So I may make amends
To my broken world

Dear lord
Im keen to learn
But burdened with the weight
Of a thousand misunderstandings
Pushing down on my shoulders
Sat in the shadow of regret
I'm gripping onto
What little hope I have left
So tell me lord
Where do I go from here?

Dear lord
The time has come
For me to leave my choices in your hands
So please lord, make demands
Offer expectations
To which I may walk towards
And given direction
There may be a chance
A glimmer of hope
That I can cope with my givens
And a new way of living
Will rekindle my faith in the world
Dear lord
