Dear Wife Poem by FLOYD BIGGIE HWENDE

Dear Wife

Dear wife

It was a long walk to here
It was jungle out there
I am glad I am home
There were thieves
Robbers I thought took my heart
Yet they only took my wisdom and my letters to you
They shouted for ever and I thought at last
They said come and I ran but they flew
Away from me lied their hearts
Broken they gave and I mended them
For them to traded the mender for another breaker.

Again and again they said forever until I started running
Away from the promises of lasting joy
For my wisdom they stole
Books of my promises to you they burnt
Poems and song of my love for you they hid and robbed
So today I write another
Give me your heart so that I write
Like on a rock
Let me engrave
That you might not forget
The heart that wrote your heart with love
So dear wife Forever I call unto you
Forever my love for ever
