Death Poem by Imafidon Mac Henry

Death

Rating: 3.5

It's been two years
Since death caged
My beloved Mary
It's into this world
My lips has been sealed
With agony and regrets.

I don't desire to cross
those parts anymore
I sit, in crossroads
Condemn to thoughts
A scene that finds tears in joy

Into thin air she left
Without a word to hug
My oceans had been made of mud
As I sip in despairs and pains
She, was a party to the throne.

So many nights,
I weep, 'til weeping becomes my morning,

It comes without a quick notice,
Men and women get engrossed by fears
That at the sound of the name
Pleading for mercy a journey taken.

I heard she was butchered
And condemned to the known
That Uncle Emeka took over
Her throne as against the will

Now, I am locked up
In the jungle of death
My movement in bondage
Chains to destination of doom
And death came calling

Tell me what is life when hope seemed lost?

I will fight flesh for flesh
If you won't answer
I will point and kill you
When we see.
